ROOD AND RIDDLE EQUINE HOSPITAL CLINICAL LABORATORY POSITION – FULL TIME 36-40 HOURS/WEEK
Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital has an opening for a full-time laboratory technologist. This is a generalist laboratory position supporting a multi-doctor equine referral hospital. Candidate should have experience in hematology, clinical chemistry, endocrinology and microscopy. We pride ourselves on maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment. Qualifications:
• MLT, MLS, CLS or veterinary technician education/certification required
• Laboratory experience (two years preferred)
• Ability to lift 30 pounds unaided
• Ability to stand for sufficient periods to complete diagnostic tasks
• Correctable vision to enable accurate specimen handling and microscope work

Skills and Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:
• Perform routine diagnostics tests (hematology, chemistry, endocrinology, microbiology)
• Adhere to good laboratory practice and OSHA guidelines
• Meet state diagnostic requirements as needed
• Verify, document, and report test findings per laboratory protocols
• Interface with clients via telephone, email and text
• Meet quality control guidelines for laboratory analyzers
• Maintain stock of consumables for designated analyzers
• Be prepared to assist co-workers in the timely performance of their allotted tasks when necessary
Schedule:
• Anticipated hours of work are 12pm – 9:30pm
• Rotating holiday and weekend schedules are required
• Overtime is seasonally available (January – July)
