ADMISSIONS TEAM MEMBER – 2ND SHIFT

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Admissions Team Member to join our Lexington team on 2nd shift (12pm – 8:30pm, 5 days/week including at least one weekend day). As a key member of our front-line staff, this role is essential in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for clients and referring veterinarians while maintaining the highest level of care for incoming and outgoing patients.
Primary Duties
• Safely and effectively handle horses of all breeds and ages during unloading/loading procedures.
• Follow emergency protocols for admitting sick or injured horses and assist veterinarians as needed.
• Deliver clear and compassionate client communication, including discharge instructions.
• Provide patient care including grooming, feeding and watering while adhering to strict biosecurity protocols.
• Identify and escalate any housed patients needing urgent veterinary attention.
• Dispense and accurately ticket out all medications and bandages for discharged patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of elective medical/surgical procedures to support appropriate stall placement and client communication.
• Collaborate with biosecurity teams to implement PPE and placement plans.
• Monitor feed inventory and coordinate feed substitutions or client feed management as needed.
• Perform light facility maintenance and seasonal duties.
Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• General computer skills and ability to maintain electronic records.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours/day and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Calm, solution-oriented mindset and confident decision-making.
• Passion for horses and empathy for their caregivers.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in Lexington, KY.
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of equine nutrition and feed types.
• Familiarity with surgical procedures, medications, and bandaging techniques.
• Prior experience in equine handling or hospital admissions is a plus.
Schedule
• 2nd Shift: Noon – 8:30 pm
• 5 days per week (must include at least one weekend day)
