MEET DR. FAIRFIELD BAIN

Dr. Fairfield Bain grew up on a Virginia farm where his love for animals was nurtured from a young age. Spending countless hours tending to livestock, he developed a deep understanding of their needs and a keen eye for detecting the slightest signs of illness.

After completing his veterinary degree from Auburn University, Dr. Bain’s passion for equine medicine led him to pursue advanced internal medicine and pathology training. He honed his skills at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Queensland. During his residencies in internal medicine at the University of Florida and in anatomic pathology at Kansas State University, he was involved in groundbreaking research, published scientific papers and presented at national conferences.

Today, Dr. Bain brings his expertise to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital as a dedicated internal medicine specialist. His primary areas of interest include gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory diseases and metabolic conditions. When he’s not working, Dr. Bain can be found in the high mountains of Colorado and New Mexico, exploring and chasing elk, occasionally on horseback. During the off-season for hunting, Dr. Bain enjoys practicing his archery skills, traveling and spending quality time with loved ones.
