RADIOLOGY FLOATER ASSISTANT
Radiology technicians assist internal medicine and surgery teams in radiology as needed in a high-volume, fast-paced and hands-on working environment. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits.
Skills Preferred
• Experience with thoroughbred and standardbred racehorses favored
• Demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a team environment
• Able to perform effectively under faced-paced circumstances
• Careful attention to detail
• Excellent communication and people skills
Primary Duties
• Prepare radiology suites and machines for use
• Assist with holding horses of all breeds and ages for procedures
• Assist in preparing horses for surgery or imaging procedures
• Hold radiograph plates for radiographs and learn to take radiographs
• Clean and maintain radiology suites, treatment area and special procedures as needed
• Replenish stock as needed
• Cross-train to cover for clinicians’ technicians
• Participate in continuous job training and educational opportunities
• Assist all teams with lameness exams
• Assist in other areas as needed
Requirements
• Previous horse-handling experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• This position is physical and requires full mobility with long periods of standing, walking and jogging
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced enviornment
Schedule
• Monday – Friday
• Set start time and end time depends on the caseload and time of year, but is typically between 3pm and 6pm
