Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital is currently seeking a candidate for a spring position. This is a primarily full-time, daytime role that comes with competitive benefits. While there is a designated start time each day, the end time may vary depending on the veterinarian’s schedule and the time of year.

The typical workweek consists of Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts required or a Friday through Sunday schedule. The assistant will be primarily assigned to one veterinarian and will have the opportunity to travel to farms across Central Kentucky, assisting with a variety of procedures.

Candidates must possess prior horse-handling experience to be considered for this position.

Requirements:

• Flexible schedule

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• This position is physical and requires full mobility with long periods of standing, walking and jogging

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Skills Preferred:

• Experience with Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses favored

• Demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a team environment

• Able to perform effectively under fast-paced circumstances

• Careful attention to detail

• Excellent communication and people skills

• Comfortable utilizing technology and electronic communications

Schedule:

• Full-time

• Monday-Friday daytime

• Some overtime may be required

• Some weekend shifts may be required
