Dr. Slack grew up in Oceanside, CA. After high school she relocated to Boulder, CO to attend the University of Colorado. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology and competed in track and field. She then went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2022. While attending veterinary school and working part-time at the CSU’s Equine Reproduction Lab, she developed a love for horses and a strong interest in Theriogenology. After graduation she completed an equine ambulatory internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital followed by a two-year Theriogenology Residency.

Her interests center around all things reproduction and include neonatal and emergency field medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Slack enjoys spending time with her two energetic dogs and two lazy cats. She also enjoys playing soccer, running and gardening.
